Product Overview

Retracting wing barriers for high-security pedestrian access control

FlowGate Pro flap barriers are retracting wing turnstiles designed for environments where high security and rapid throughput must coexist. Deployed in secure corporate facilities, data centers, airport security checkpoints, and government secure areas, these barriers combine sophisticated anti-tailgating detection with smooth, quiet operation suitable for premium interior environments.

Each flap barrier lane features retracting wings made from 10mm tempered glass or durable acrylic panels that retract into the cabinet housing during passage. The wings deploy and retract with a response time under 0.3 seconds, enabling throughput of 35 to 50 persons per minute. A dense infrared sensor array of 16 to 32 pairs per lane provides comprehensive pedestrian tracking from lane entry to exit.

The anti-tailgating detection algorithm analyzes real-time sensor data to identify and prevent unauthorized following. When tailgating is detected, the system triggers an audible and visual alarm while keeping the lane secure. All electronics are housed in 304 stainless steel cabinets with IP54-rated enclosures and surge protection on all circuits.

Technical Specifications

Materials, dimensions, and integration specifications

Detailed specifications for procurement evaluation and system integration planning.

Housing Material

304 stainless steel housing with brushed finish as standard. Top lid in brushed stainless steel with integrated LED passage status indicators. Retracting wing panels in 10mm tempered glass with polished edges, or 8mm acrylic with scratch-resistant coating. Cabinet construction with precision laser-cut panels and welded seams. Surface finishes include hairline brushed, mirror-polished, and PVD-coated options.

Lane Dimensions

Standard lane width: 550mm to 900mm. Cabinet dimensions (per side): 1400mm length x 180mm width x 1000mm height. Wing height: 900mm to 1200mm depending on security posture. Multi-lane arrays supported with shared center cabinets. Custom lane widths and heights available per project specification for high-security applications.

Throughput & Speed

Throughput of 35-50 persons per minute in free-passage mode. Wing retract time under 0.3 seconds. Wing deploy time under 0.5 seconds. Bidirectional passage with programmable lane direction per lane. Configurable passage timeout from 2 to 60 seconds. Anti-tailgating detection triggers within 50 milliseconds of unauthorized following detection.

Sensor Array & Anti-Tailgating

Infrared sensor array with 16 to 32 pairs per lane, configurable based on lane width and security requirements. Sensors positioned at multiple heights for comprehensive pedestrian detection. Real-time position tracking algorithm distinguishes between single authorized passage, tailgating, wrong-way entry, and loitering. Sensor self-diagnosis with automatic fault reporting to lane controller. Configurable sensitivity and detection zones per lane.

Integration Protocols

RS485 serial communication for local controller networking with up to 32 lanes per bus. TCP/IP Ethernet interface with REST API for building management and security information management system integration. Wiegand 26/34/37-bit input for third-party card readers, biometric terminals, and QR code scanners. Dry contact relay outputs for alarm, fire alarm interface, passage count, and status signaling. SDK available for custom software integration.

Power & Environmental

Input power: AC 110-240V, 50/60 Hz universal. Motor drive: DC 24V brushless with encoder feedback. Standby consumption under 25W per lane. Operating consumption under 90W per lane during passage. IP54 rated enclosure. Operating temperature: -15 degrees C to 55 degrees C. Humidity: 10% to 95% non-condensing. Surge protection on all input and output circuits rated to 4kV.
