Flap Barrier Series
Flap Barrier
Flap barriers are compact, low-profile gates with retractable flap leafs that control 30 to 45 passes per minute through 550 to 650 mm lanes. An infrared sensor array keeps flow moving in supermarkets, retail stores, office floors, schools and gyms, with card and QR readers.
Overview
Compact lanes that keep traffic moving
Flap barriers give controlled access without the footprint or visual weight of a full-height gate. The housing is low and compact, and the retractable flap leafs stay out of the way while the lane is open. When a credential is verified, the flaps close behind the pedestrian to prevent a second person following through on the same authorization.
An infrared sensor array monitors the passage so the flaps only close when the person has cleared the lane, which keeps throughput at 30 to 45 passes per minute even during peak flow. Card and QR readers mount on the housing, and the control board is shared with the rest of the pedestrian turnstile gates family, so flap barriers mix easily with speed gates and tripod turnstiles in the same building.
Their small footprint makes them a common choice for retrofit projects where space is tight. See the full family on the product lines overview.

Applications
Where flap barriers are specified
Flap barriers suit high-volume indoor entrances where space and flow both matter. These are the most common sites.
Because the housing is compact and the flap retracts fully, a flap barrier can be installed where a swing gate would crowd the aisle. It also integrates with the same card, QR and RFID readers as the rest of the family, so a mixed entrance — flap barriers on staff lanes beside a speed gate on the main lane — stays consistent to manage and support.
Supermarkets
Large format stores use flap barriers to separate the sales floor from service areas while keeping trolley access simple.
Retail stores
High street retailers control staff and stock-room access with compact lanes that fit tight floor plans.
Office floors
Multi-tenant office buildings install flap barriers on reception floors to log visitor and staff movement discreetly.
Schools & gyms
Schools and fitness centers gate canteens, courts and changing areas with low-profile barriers that children can use safely.
OEM / ODM Customization

Procurement Process
From specification to export-ready delivery
Every flap barrier order follows the same five-stage process so lane width, housing size and flap timing are confirmed before production starts.
Specification and RFQ
Share your drawings, quantities and site conditions. We confirm lane width, reader type and flap timing.
Drawing review
Our engineers review the layout, confirm the housing size and acrylic finish, and set the flap open/close behavior.
Production and burn-in
Units are assembled under ISO9001 control and every lane is cycled to check the IR array and flap motion.
Final inspection
Final inspection covers function, finish and packaging readiness before the batch is cleared for export.
Export packaging and delivery
Units ship in foam-protected export crates by sea or air, with installation guidance and remote technical support.
