FlowGate Pro Buying Guides

Access control buying guide for overseas procurement

Practical guidance for procurement managers buying pedestrian turnstiles, vehicle barrier gates and integrated access control from a factory in Shenzhen — from supplier selection, to preparing an OEM RFQ, to quality control before shipment.

Guide Library

Four guides that cover the decisions that matter

Each guide below reflects the questions buyers actually raise during RFQs and factory audits for pedestrian and vehicle access control. Read them in order, or jump to the one that matches your current stage of the purchasing process.

The guides assume you are buying for a real project — an office tower lobby, a transit interchange, a commercial car park or a community entrance — where the specification has to survive installation, commissioning and daily operation. Each one ends with a practical next step you can take on the same day.

How to choose an access control supplier for overseas procurement

Start by separating factories from trading companies. Ask for production photos, export history and certificates — ISO9001, CE and a verified business profile such as Dun & Bradstreet. Then test response quality: a supplier who answers commissioning and API questions quickly is usually the one who will support you during installation.

Delivery slips of 30 to 60 days are common in this industry, so confirm capacity and scheduling early. See the company profile and the factory page for what to verify before you shortlist.

Preparing an OEM RFQ for pedestrian and vehicle access control

A usable RFQ includes layout drawings, lane widths, door heights, materials and finishes, quantities per type, destination country and target lead time. The more complete the RFQ, the more comparable the quotes — and the fewer surprises during factory inspection.

State clearly whether you want OEM branding, custom dimensions or a full ODM design with prototype development. For the customization process, review the OEM/ODM page.

Quality control checklist for access control suppliers

Confirm incoming material inspection, in-process checks on motors and sensors, functional testing of every turnstile and barrier gate, and a pre-shipment inspection you can join by video. Ask for test records and the final inspection report in writing before release.

Certification documents should be current and issued for the product family you are buying, not a generic company statement. The FAQ lists the certificates FlowGate Pro holds and how to request them.

Materials and finishes: specifying stainless steel and glass lanes

Specify 304 or 316 stainless steel, brushed or mirror finish, and tempered glass for lane panels. These choices affect corrosion resistance, cleaning effort and price, so they belong in the RFQ rather than being decided after production starts.

For entrance projects with both pedestrian and vehicle traffic, confirm that finishes match across speed gates, barrier gates and any pedestal housings. Compare the product families on the product lines page.

The full product catalog is available on request

The complete catalog with specifications, dimensions and configuration options is shared directly with buyers who are planning a real project. Request it through the contact form and we will send the relevant sections for turnstiles, barrier gates, LPR and parking management, along with current pricing guidance for your destination market.

The catalog works alongside the guides above — use it to confirm that a product family matches your drawings, then apply the RFQ checklist to lock down materials, finishes and integration requirements. If you are still early in the process, start with the supplier selection guide and return to the catalog once your shortlist is down to two or three factories.

All requests are handled by the same engineers who prepare quotes, so you will not be passed between departments. Add your drawings or a list of questions to the request and we will answer them in the same reply.
